A limited number of partial scholarships are available for Pundarika sponsored retreats. They are administered according to the following three criteria:
- Serious or life-threatening medical problems causing financial hardship;
- Enrolled students without the resources to pay in full;
- Other serious financial need.
Financial need is defined as the inability to pay the full tuition fee for the retreat, based on an individual’s total financial situation (this should include assets and cash flow). The total number of scholarships and amount of each is determined on a retreat by retreat basis dependent on enrollment, facility costs, and related expenses. Scholarships apply to the tuition portion of the fees and not housing, food or other expenses.
If you have received a retreat scholarship from Pundarika Foundation one or more times in the past, this will also be considered with priority given to new applicants who meet the criteria as noted above.
Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee consisting of the retreat Registrar and the Financial Director.
To complete the initial scholarship application process you must do two things:
- Register for the retreat on line and pay a deposit of $50.
- Complete the scholarship application on line (see below) and send it to the registrar.
If you are not awarded a scholarship, the deposit amount will be either refunded to you or should you choose, applied to your full-cost payment. All remaining retreat costs beyond the deposit amount are payable by check or money order and must be mailed directly to the Registrar (Registrar, c/o Pundarika Foundation, PO Box 57, Crestone, CO 81131) prior to the date that registration closes for the retreat(s) you are interested in.
The scholarship application process will close approximately one month prior to the closing of registration. Awards will be announced by e-mail to the applicants who best meet the criteria as outlined above, within the funds available.
